Commons:Overwriting existing files

Please don't overwrite images of paintings like you did for File:Theodore Robinson - The Layette - 2016.22.2 - National Gallery of Art.jpg and other files. It's long standing practice that this is not allowed. Just upload them under a different name. Thank you, Multichill (talk) 20:25, 23 June 2025 (UTC)

I asked nicely. You are actively ignoring the edit warning pointing you to Commons:Overwriting existing files. This is standing policy and practice. If you want to change that you're welcome to start a poll, but until standing policy is changed, I'll enforce it.

Moin Marcus, kannst du bitte mal auf die Seite https://www.nordbayern.de/150-jahre-eisenbahn-in-treuchtlingen-so-fing-alles-an-1.9260304 schauen. Ich bin gerade dabei, das Bahnbetriebswerk Treuchtlingen etwas auszuarbeiten. Text ist kein Problem - aber darf ich eines dieser alten Bilder verwenden - teilweise mehr als 70 oder 100 Jahre alt, kein Autor bekannt, aber Copyright-Hinweis auf den Treuchtlinger Kurier. Die Zeitung ist nicht mehr eigenständig, gehört jetzt zum Weißenburger Tagblatt (ev. Rechtsnachfolger?). Danke und Gruß Mef.ellingen (talk) 21:59, 14 August 2025 (UTC)

Hallo, das Urheberrecht wurde 1934 novelliert. Seit 1934 galt eine 50-, seit 1965 gilt die 70-Jahre-post-mortem-Regel. Davor galt eine Regel von 30 Jahren. Sprich, fast alles was vor 1934 in Deutschland veröffentlicht wurde, ist nach meinem Verständnis mittlerweile gemeinfrei. Natürlich ist es am Ende alles wie immer noch komplizierter, aber Bilder, die vor 1920 gemacht wurden, kannst du getrost als frei ansehen. Marcus Cyron (talk) 23:28, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
