Photography workshop

This workshop is part of the Graphic Lab, a project aimed at picture retouching to improve the graphical content of the Wikimedia projects. This specific page is the requests page for the Photography Workshop. Anyone can make a request for a photograph to be improved. The standard format for making a request is shown below, along with general advice, and should be followed.

Clean up to improve appearance

Hello. I am the original uploader of this image. I still have the original magazine. I would like to avoid any alterations that would require a new file name. Please tweak this image to make it more presentable. Notice how there is a bluish tint or something in the lower-third left section, for instance. The background should be more naturally uniform. I'd appreciate just some touch-ups to improve the overall quality without creating a new file name. That might mean improving the focus and coloring and removing any glare area. I attempted to improve the image with my basic image editor on May 2, 2025 (under "File history"). However, I seemed to give it an artificial glitter appearance instead. Update. I increased size and tried again w/o success on 7/5.

Touchup for old photo

Comment: @37.159.49.195: This is the sort of easy enough work you can do yourself quite easily by using the "Crop Tool" and leaving this page for more complex requests. When you want to crop an image I suggest you consider using the CropTool that can be activated in your commons Preferences, under Gadgets. The CropTool will then appears in the left side of your screen. It saves everyone a lot of time because it transfers all the correct and appropriate information into the cropped image, such as source, license, author, etc. It even leaves a backlink to the original and visa versa so long as the original has been positively reviewed. That way all the proper information is there and most often does not need to be manually reviewed again. If you are just cropping a small bit of the image like a frame you may decide to overwrite the original image but for more major crops you should upload the cropped version as a separate new image with a new name, but you have a choice. Ideally, right up to the edges, indeed! So, in the case of the window, the white edges form the outer sides of the image. And in the case of the stone, the white edges form the outer edges. Dear JayCubby, thank you for your adjustment! However, what I meant was to crop it in such a way that it becomes slightly distorted so that it fits within the frames.
